"Buddha with Flowers" 2011. Linoleum-cut print. Shown in my sister's dining room, as an example of how the print would work in an everyday setting. Thanks for the photo, Katie!

"Buddha with Flowers" (Off-Kilter Version on the right) 2011. Linoleum-cut print. I mistakenly got this print stuck in the press while printing and this is the result. I think it looks kind psychedelic and makes you do a double take. Shout out to my friend Emily who owns the Off-Kilter Version for sending me a photo of it. Thanks, you're awesome!

“The Cloth” 2012. Soft pastels. Somehow I did this in 4 hours total and it was really fun. What color do you think the cloth is?

“The Bowl with Limes and a Tomato” 2012. Soft pastels.

“Woodstar Has the Best Mochas aka Self-Portrait” 2011. Oil on canvas. It is very large in person.

"Buddha with Flowers"

"Buddha with Flowers" 2011. Linoleum-cut print.

Original inspiration photograph. I love sailing, I will almost never say no to a good sail. So call me if you have a boat, please!
“Sailboat with Buoy” 2011. Lithography Print on a Bavarian Limestone, which is the only stone you can do print-making on. First I drew on the stone using a lithography crayon, everything in black and white and then I had to erase everything by grinding the stone down. Then I had to re-draw just what I wanted in red and it had to match up exactly.
Same print on tan paper, I think it has a different feel to it on the mid-tone paper.

“The Orchid” 2011 (lighter version). Photo Lithography Print. I took the photo in the Smith College Botanical Gardens Greenhouse.
“The Orchid” 2011 (darker version). Photo Lithography Print. I prefer this darker bolder version.

“The Arrow” 2011. Oil on canvas.

“GLP Flag” 2010. Soft pastels.

“My Hand” 2010. Aquatint Intaglio Etching. Chemicals including an acid bath on a copper plate are involved. Honestly, most art is pretty hazardous and unhealthy, but the end products can be pretty cool. At least I wore gloves!

“Ink Flower Drawing” 2011. Ink on paper. Very large piece of paper.

"Cat" 2008. Painted rock.

"Bunny" 2003. Painted rock.

"Frog" Painted Rock.

"Rose" Painted rock.

“Sand Dune at Harkness Park Beach” 2010. Soft pastels.

“Reeds at Harkness Park” 2010. Soft pastels.

“Two Trees at Harkness Park” 2010. Soft pastels. These pastels are the product of a outdoor landscape pastels summer class I took at Connecticut College that met at Harkness Park in Waterford, Connecticut.

“Flip flops” 2003. Soft rubber cut print.

“Double Self-Portrait with Zombie Liza” 2009. Charcoal on Paper.

Prompt was a double self-portrait so I decided to do myself as 1) A Zombie and 2) Myself fleeing from Zombie Liza

Big Hello to Blogger/Blogspot!

Hello anyone who might read my first post on Blogger/Blogspot!

My name is Liza and I am creating a blog to show my art that I have created over the years and new pieces as well! I have recently started another blog also called Liza's Studio on Tumblr. I like that blog very much but I have discovered 2 flaws on that blog website that I think Blogger could address much better. On Tumblr you cannot comment on individual posts or pictures. And you can't comment at all if you don't have a Tumblr account. I am interested in hearing people's thoughts on my work, so I did not think all my blogging needs were being met on Tumblr, so hopefully this new blog/website venture will be successful!

Please enjoy my art and feel free to comment, ask questions or provide any constructive criticism you would like. Thank you, Liza.
